Wednesday Wine Tasting with Kellogg || Upcoming Australian Wine Book Launch and Tasting

New Fall Hours | Wine Tasting Sept 13 |
Australian Book Launch Sept 16 | Chillable Red

Hello Caviste folks:

We are happy to welcome the cooling weather, in recognition, we are adjusting our hours (staying open a little later on the weekend):

New Fall Hours
Tuesday - Thursday 11 am - 7pm
Friday 11 am - 8 pm
Saturday 12 pm - 8pm

Next week's wine tasting with Sam from Kellogg Selections also welcomes this transitional weather, with a wide variety of cool weather appropriate wines.

Next Saturday, September 16, we are excited to host Jane Lopes for the launch of her new book on Audstralian wine, obviously accompanied by an Australian wine tasting.

Please join us for one (or both) of these events. Cheers!

Wednesday September 13

Tasting with Sam from Kellogg Selections

4:30 - 6:30pm

(drop-in, free)

Hermann J Wiemer 'Field White', New York
Grüner Vetliner, Chardonnay, Riesling
Young-vine Grüner Veltliner sets the foundation for the Field White with regional NY staples Riesling and Chardonnay filling in its aromatic fruit profile. A complex every day white.

Birichino 'Buraribi' California
Old Vine Carignan, Grenache
A light, delightfully chillable red from Santa Cruz, CA. Half carbonic maceration makes this end-of- summer-red, irresistible, fresh and crushable.

Domaine Charnay Beaujolais France
Classic, joyful Beaujolais showing rose petals, big juicy cherries, with a slight peppery and wild herbs on the finish.

Julien Cecillon "Les Graviers" Syrah France
‘Les Graviers’ means ‘gravel’ where the Syrah from 3 different vineyard sites grows.  This results in a slightly lighter style Syrah where the tannins are silky and the flavors lean to plum and licorice; delicate and delicious.

Jean-Baptiste Senat 'Amalgame' (Aude, France)
Grenache, Grenache Blanc, Grenache Gris

Jean-Baptiste is a first generation winemaker in Minervois in the Languedoc region, a perfect springboard where appellation laws are looser and the region’s wines don’t command exorbitant price tags. Here we have a super interesting blend of Grenache grapes three ways, fermented separately and blended together making an amalgamation of Grenache. The result is a cross between a dark rosé and a light red; it's light and gluggable but still structured with a lovely spice component. A fun and lighthearted delight with tons of crushed rose petals and a lingering bitter finish. Serve with a chill.
