Classic French Wines
We are excited about this line up as we are pouring some new favorites and old. These are some delicious wines for Spring sipping and will stand you in good stead later in the summer as well.
The wines of Kermit Lynch have long been a staple on our shelves. Known for their consistency and value, customers have grown to trust and look for this importer. This week we will be pouring two of of Spring favorites from them, a delicious Bordeaux Blanc and a Loire Valley Rose.
The Ducasse blanc has long been a customer favorite! One taste of the intermingling of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc is a classic blend for the region. The Semillon gives the wine a little body and texture (certainly as it ages) and the Sauvignon Blanc offers the bright refreshing notes so welcome in Summer.
Equally, the birght crisp mountain cherry notes of the Rosé, made from Pinot Noir and Gamay is begging for a good book and lazy weekend afternoon outside.
We have also enjoyed exploring and presenting the new portfolio of France and Western. Interestingly enough, one of the founders once worked for Kermit Lynch's national sales team. The two wines here offer a great weekend one two punch.
The Duport wine is all things we love in crus Beaujolais, that wonderful combination of seriousness and playfulness. From old vine Gamay, this wine as a depth of flavor with black fruits and crushed boysenberry that is marvelous for grilled chicken or mushrooms.
The Vaquer Cuvee Bernard steps up a little in weight with the equal blend of Syrah, Carignan and Grenache. Offering the rich flavors of the sun in France's southern climes. Not inky so much as rounder and a little fuller bodied, has me thinking of lamb and rosemary.
All of the wines are in the mid $20 range and are perfect for the season. Join us for a taste and stock up a little for your Spring sipping.
