We tasted each of these wines recently and found them so good we wanted to present them to the WS wine community. Stop by to taste through them, then stay for a small bite and a glass afterwards.
De Sanctis "496" Frascati 70% Malvasia di Candia, 30% Trebbiano Toscano. Peach and pear, almond, floral. Aromatic on the nose, textured/layered on the palate. Located a (generous) stone's throw from metropolitan Rome, Luigi and Lorenzo craft elegant expressions of one of Italy's oldest known wines. Ferlat Ribolla Gialla 2-day skin contact ("orange wine") ribolla gialla. Lemon, golden apple, dried grasses and herbal tea. Soft and surprisingly clean. A pair of young winemakers dedicated to clean farming, nuanced wine, and indigenous grapes. Pas de l'Escalette "Ze Roze" Grenache, Cinsault, Carignan blend. Mineral, strawberry, citrus. A certified organic farm in the steep, dramatic limestone plateaus of the Terrasses du Larzac. Drink ocean (or pool) side. Oltretorrente Barbera Rosso, Piedmont, Italy. Classic returning favorite with lots of black fruits, hint of spice, and floral bouquet.
