Hurricane Relief Collection Site || French Wine Dinner Oct 16

Hello from the Caviste:

By now, many of you have heard of the devastation in Western North Carolina. We are saddened by the destruction, but also heartened by the number of people contributing their time and resources to directly aid people and small businesses in need.

The NC food and beverage industry is a small community. This community provided Asheville and the mountains many of the attractions that made it a tourist destination.  Many of these businesses are small and suffering greatly from the level of destruction they have experienced.

Even then, they are pulling together to help each other and rebuild. Here are a few ways we can join them in this process:

1. As a wine shop, The Caviste as a business can support small distributors by purchasing as much of their inventory as possible. We will be featuring many wines from some of our small distributor partners.  Please consider purchasing their wines.

2. One such distributor based in Asheville,
Rise Over Run, has been severely crippled. To that end, we are highlighting them, and their wines, in the upcoming French Wine Dinner, Wednesday, October 16. Chef Bobby will craft a French-classic 5-course menu to guide us through wines from the Savoie, Jura, Rhone, Beaujolais, and Champagne regions. It is a chance to enjoy a delicious meal, taste some delicious wines and support a company in need. We hope you can join us. If you are unable to join us, we hope you will consider purchasing their wines. We have these wines currently available in our shop. Scroll below for more details.

3. Collection site, Tuesday, Oct 8 and Wednesday, Oct 9 until 2pm: The Caviste/Bobby Boy will also be serving as a collection site for nonperishable provisions, sent directly to vulnerable communities through Rise Over Run's delivery van. They have partnered with two frontline groups for distribution:

We also have many other events lined up - keep scrolling for more details.
