For tastings, we are excited for Wednesday's Hit Singles Tasting - Albariño, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, & Cab Franc, this Wednesday, Feb 4, 5-7pm. These are some great wines some new discoveries, some old favorites but all worthy of a spot in your cellar or in your glass.

| We're diving into single varietals. Albariño, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, and Cab Franc can sing on their own when handled with care. Of course, because we are Gen-X-ers, hit singles can only mean 80s/90s hits, so it will be old-school Wednesday night.
Albariño, Zarate
Albariño is widely planted in Spain's Galicia region. We love its coastal freshness, saline, with full mouth texture. Zarate's Albarino comes from 35-year-old vines and is biodynamically farmed. A stunner of a white. This is his entry (ask us about his old-vine Albariños that rival Chablis). $26
Zinfandel Rosé, Turley
Zinfandel is California through and through. It found its way during the Gold Rush (1850s) and thrives in the Cali climate. It is also known as Black St. Peter, and is the third grape planted in California after Muscat and Mission. Benchmark Zinfandel winery, Turley, champions old-vine, dry-farmed, old-style California zinfandel. The Rose is dry. And full-bodied, strawberried, juicy, structured, wintry. $27
Pinot Noir, Domaine Pellé
One of the most expressive grapes, pinot noir is one of the best "travel guides" and opens the door to a sense of place, the French concept of terroir. We get to taste a pinot from the Loire Valley, a region that is akin to Sancerre, but lesser known, and hence, a value gem. Domaine Pellé farms organically/biodynamically. Cherry, florals, round tannins, slightly lush. $25
Cab Franc, Gradis'Ciutta (Friuli, Italy)
While famous in Bordeaux and the Loire Valley, Cab Franc is just as brilliant in other parts of the world, such as the one here, from Friuli. It is a parent grape to Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. It is adaptable, and can withstand warmer climates. Known for its bell pepper-y and herbacious flavors, this Cab Franc from the Friuli region (northeastern Italy) takes on lively red currant and fresh brambly flavors, a plush blackberry medium note, and a hint of tobacco. $26 |

Our wine clubs offer a chance to explore the world of wine with a little guidance, sharing our discoveries from places known and lesser known. This month's value club is from the Republic of Georgia, with this winery focused on honoring legendary Georgian warriors and celebrating female winemakers.
