Sophie will pour three classic grower champagnes from a family estate in the Côtes de Blancs. They are truly small production, having just 13.5 hectares, 6 of which are classified as Grand Cru and are located in Le-Mesnil-sur-Oger, Chouilly, Oiry, Cramant and Oger. Average age of the vines are 40 years (older than the norm!). All vineyard work is done in what the French call lutte raisonnée (which means a reasonable fight) - fighting against parasites and mold without chemicals, harvest by hand. Sustainable, reasonable, respect for the land. Twins Charles and Anne-Sophie, third generation producers, lead the charge. These are great "party" wines as they do not break the bank, but give you an entrée into the beautiful world of champagnes.
