California Dreamin'
 Wine Tasting
Wednesday, Feb 18, 5-7pm drop in
with John from Kellogg Selections
$5 tasting fee, waived with featured bottle purchase
Suprised that we carry California wines? We love small producers making terroir-driven, passionately focused, wines no matter where they come from. This lineup of California winemakers respect the past, but are also looking ahead to the future. For instance, Patrick Cappiello of Monte Rio is highlighting California's Mission grape, the first vitis vinefera grape planted in the state. History, but then with an eye towards lower alcohol, balanced, wines. We hope you will join us for this great lineup of intriguing wines.

Chenin Blanc Amador Co | Sandlands |  Chenin Blanc
Sandlands is a passion project of Tegan Passalacqua, also associated with Turley Wines. Sandlands specializes in head trained, dry-farmed, historic vineyards, in lesser known regions such as Lodi or Amador County. The chenin blanc is a combination of two vineyards, of black gneiss and blue schist soil.  Lemon peel, white flowers, delicate with some oomph  $28

Pet Nat Rosé, Cruse Wine Co. | St. Laurent
Michael Cruse, with a science background, wanted to focus on the North Coast, and feature lesser known varietals that bring out the best of California sun and terroir. Unapologetically truly Californian fruity, with freshness and lightness, strawberry, watermelon, lean and fresh, easy sparkler for our BBQ and hushpuppies $34

Alpine Red, Pax Wines | Trousseau Gris, Mondeuse Noir, Gamay, Mourvedre, Grenache, Trousseau Noir
Pax is known for minimal intervention, old world approach, and balanced wines. This is a fun, chillable, playful, pizza or sunset wine - herbally, juicy, mountain berries, slightly crushed pepper $18

Mission Red, Monte Rio | Mission
The combination of high altitude, and dry desert region, makes this mission wine a light, fruity, delicious drinker. The 60-year-old vines make the grapes a little more concentrated, so while light, it is still a robust red. $23

*$5 tasting fee for the lineup, waived with featured bottle purchase

Beans Beans Beans
Many of you know but perhaps more of you should discover these delicious beans.  Rancho Gordo Beans are having a well deserved moment since Covid. Recently, The Wall Street Journal reported that the bean club subscription has over 10,000 people on the waitlist. Well, don't fret about the list as you can find a rotating selection of beans at the store. Plus, this bean book (pictured), is a collection of all of the recipes you can find online at the Rancho Gordo website. We have the cookbook in our Caviste library if you're interested.
